Listless in Melbourne lockdowns two through six, I became obsessed with the mystery of my adopted cat’s past. So, naturally I went in search of key figures of her past and interviewed them.
Throughout my efforts, the broader question of whether it’s really possible to “know” the animals in our lives came up, leading me to dip a toe (paw?) into the world of Jacques Derrida, and inadvertently hijack an interview with philosopher Timothy Morton, which cast new light onto this quite frankly unhinged investigation.
